An elegant double-sided French writing desk or table of ebonized mahogany with gilt accents in the Louis XVI style.

Featuring a moulded, ebonized rectangular top with an inset embossed and richly patinated cognac leather writing surface, surrounded by a gilded edge with gilt bronze corners, over a frieze showing one central drawer flanked by four smaller drawers, the drawers with brass chevron escutcheons.
The opposing side has five false drawers in the same configuration as the front.
Pull-out leather-topped writing surfaces on each end nearly double the surface area of the desk.
Resting on tapered legs with ormolu detailing and brass cap feet.
